Natur-ally is Alison, who has always been passionate about knitting and textiles. A few years ago she started growing natural dye plants — woad, madder and weld, plus many more — in rural Lincolnshire.
She's developed a unique way of knitting garments first and dyeing them afterwards, which gives her tie-dye and dip-dyed effects you won't find anywhere else. She uses British yarns wherever she can, knits on a vintage hand-powered machine, and is currently learning to use a circular sock machine. Alongside the finished knitwear there's a small range of knitting yarns, patterns and kits. She studied Fashion Knitwear and Knitted Textiles at Nottingham Trent, and taught for a few years on the Textiles course at Hull College.
